Confidante: Technology Designed to Bring Us Closer, Not Further Apart

If we build it right, technology can help moms regulate stress, reclaim calm, and build real connection—through presence, not pressure.

If we build it right, technology can help moms regulate stress, reclaim calm, and build real connection

In a world where technology often leaves us feeling more disconnected than connected, we knew from day one that Confidante had to be different.

Social media promised connection but delivered comparison.

Endless apps and notifications promised convenience but left us overwhelmed.

The pressure to curate, perform, and seek validation online has only deepened the divides between how we feel and how we present ourselves to the world.

At Confidante, we’re not here to add to that noise.

We’re building a tool that helps moms step out of the stress response, so they can reconnect to themselves and, by extension, to the people they love most.

The Truth About Stress (and Why We Can’t Ignore It)

The American Psychological Association’s 2023 Stress in America survey confirms what so many of us already feel in our bones: we are a nation recovering from collective trauma.

The Covid-19 pandemic, racial injustice, global conflict, economic instability, and climate anxiety have left deep, lasting impacts on our mental and physical health.

For adults aged 35 to 44—a core age group of mothers raising children—rates of chronic illness have climbed from 48% in 2019 to 58% in 2023. Diagnosed mental health conditions in this group have spiked from 31% to 45%. Stress isn’t just “in our heads.” It’s in our bodies, our relationships, and our daily lives.

Long-term stress rewires the nervous system. It keeps us on high alert. It makes small frustrations feel enormous. And when left unaddressed, it can fracture the very relationships we care most about.

But what if, right in the middle of the chaos, we had a way to pause, reflect, and recalibrate?

Confidante is Not About Escaping Life. It’s About Returning to It, Regulated.

One of our moms recently shared this with us:

“Confidante is helping me show up as the mom I want to be. My default is to interrogate my kids and my partner—it only creates a divide. Confidante helps me regulate the stress so that instead of interrogating, I can build connection and approach situations with clarity and curiosity. It’s completely changing the way I parent and partner. I feel so much more calm and in control.”

That is the heart of what we’re building.

Confidante isn’t here to offer quick fixes or to distract you from your life. It’s here to meet you in real time, when stress hits, and walk you through:

  • Pausing before reacting.

  • Identifying what’s really at the root of your stress or overwhelm.

  • Exploring your emotions in a judgment-free space.

  • Preparing you to have important conversations, set boundaries, or ask for support.

Because when we can regulate ourselves, we can reconnect with our children, our partners, our friends, and our communities in ways we want to.

Connection Starts with Self-Regulation

We know stress will always be a part of life. But the difference between stress running our lives and us being able to respond with intention is a skill that can be learned, and practiced.

Confidante is your practice ground. Quietly. Privately. Compassionately.

This isn’t about becoming a perfect parent or partner. It’s about having tools that help you show up as you, the calm, curious, connected version of you that’s always there, just beneath the surface.

Tech for Human Connection, Not Performance

At its core, Confidante exists to create deeper human connection. We’re not here to sell you on hustle culture, toxic positivity, or performative perfection. We’re here to help you pause, reflect, and reconnect.

Because you are already a great mom.

Because you deserve to feel proud of how you show up.

Because your relationships deserve your clarity and calm.

Because moms deserve better tools.

In a world that’s left us more stressed and disconnected than ever, Confidante is here to help you navigate the hard moments, so you can reconnect with the people who matter most.
